…That Everyone should have a shit list?

There are two sides to every coin.

I an solution oriented. I like to see the positive side of things. My glass is half full. BUT… every ZEN mind must create that humorous foible in life to balance the seriousness that surrounds us (whether we look at it positively or negatively.)

To that end I have borrowed a tried and true methodology for earmarking the things in this world that can make me roll my eyes, heave heavy sighs or feel the frustrations or even anger that we mere mortals are prone to suffer. In other words… if you are going to be human you may as well enjoy doing it.

Write a “shit list.”

What is a shit list you ask? Let me explain: Have you ever watched a commercial on television that just drives you crazy? Listened to a song on the radio and could not get it out of your head? Have you ever met someone that is just naturally annoying and won’t leave you alone? Watched a TV show or movie and just found someone grating and a deterrent to your natural flow?

Write them down on your shit list.

Before you know it you will have pages filled with things that you can laugh at and see in an entirely different light. They become a group of things once negative that produce a positive in your experience. Sometimes when you experience them again in the real world you can find yourself looking at it (or them) slightly different.

It’s all about attitude and perception.

Start your “shit list” today and you will begin a process that will help a healing process within. Share it with others or keep it tightly undercover for your own eyes. It doesn’t matter. What matters is the process and the motive.

In weeks to come I will revisit this topic on the blog to see how everyone might be doing. Today I have started my list. There were a few things that jumped out immediately as Zen-blockers. Maybe some day we can all compare notes.

Until then:

Be Happy. Be Well. Be.
